Hi Ben, sounds like a good plan. I still think the Smith Morra is a better fit with the Goring as there are many lines that transpose. Read Mayhem in the Morra. Sorry, to be honest not sure I would pay for premium yet, until you reach 1700. There are a number of patron schemes out there, what would make me want to join is signs of progress and that you play stuff I like. I really like Kaspa who is 2000+ he has a patron system, but he's all over the place with different openings every week.
Thanks Martin. I have played the Morra quite a bit over the past year, but got frustrated. I never got hold of Esserman's book though. I'm aiming to come back at 1700 ;-)
Hi Ben. Sounds sensible to look for new opportunities to create income. Love the new plans of a surprise weapon and it would be interesting to see your journey to get to 2000. For me to become a premium subscriber, would depend on the amount of the monthly fee. I won’t be playing your repertoire, so my subscription would only be to support you as a friend.
Good luck with the move to Scotland! Hope seeing you soon!
Hi Ben. Great to hear from you & good to hear that you are developing your ideas. I think it was Peter Drucker who said that a business always needs to be innovating as the market is always changing. So standing still is effectively falling behind. I love the idea of the surprise weapon repertoire with the goal of getting to 2000. Although I'm so conservative in my play I can't ever imagine using it myself! Maybe you'll change my mind though - let's see how well it does? Also love the idea of puzzles, more info, etc. on Substack. TBH I think I would struggle to justify paying for premium content though. Although obviously it depends on cost, the exact nature of the content, how much our taxes go up after the GE, etc. Looking forward to seeing all this stuff in action.

You can get the course on chessable for £24 in their go pro for a week promotion. I've already learnt several places I was going wrong 😀
Yeah I have studied the Morra a bit, but at 2000 on the Lichess player database the Wing Gambit actually scores slightly better.

Thanks for your ongoing support bro. I'm planning to use the default Substack premium pricing ($8/month or $80/year).

Thanks. Premium would likely be the default $8/month, so affordable for most people.
This all sounds very sensible and could be just as much fun to follow your journey here. Good luck my friend.
Thanks boss, appreciate the support as always 👍🏼
